Variation versus Conformity

We are all intertwined by a road that links our lives. A road of difficulty, perseverance, weariness, and strength, among other things. In despair the world binds together, in triumph we celebrate.

Everyone is unique and no two people are quite the same. Why do our differences separate us? Why can’t we celebrate the qualities that make us unique? Are we merely afraid of variation and drawn to similarity?

In reality, most of us are envious over what makes another person unique. Our differences make us want what we do not have. If another person has any sort of advantage over us, we may become hostile. This draws us away from variation and closer to the vicious need of conformity.

In all, it is an endless loophole, a cycle of complete despair. No joy, equals no celebration. Not celebrating our differences causes jealousy, a want for what we cannot obtain, and a need for conformity. The cycle repeats. Are we ever truly satisfied? No.

In the end we want what we do not have and have what we do not want.
