My Top 3 Favorite Places To Travel To
When my family and I travel, we like to go to exotic places for the experience. My top 3 however, are the Dominican Republic, Aruba, and Puerto Rico. I was able to go to Puerto Rico during Thanksgiving of 2016. Over Thanksgiving of 2017, I went on a Carnival Vista cruise to Curaçao, Grand Turk, Aruba, and the Dominican Republic.
#3 Dominican Republic
I didn't share any photos or videos from DR since we went Extreme Zip-lining! On this Carnival Vista excursion we took a long drive though the city, rural areas, and even the mountains!
Our drive was a little crazy considering our bus broke down in the mountains! I mean, technically it did not actually break down, but it got caught in a ditch on the road. This held us back around 20 minutes and everyone on the two buses ended up having to walk to a certain point. We were finally picked up on smaller buses that took us to our destination!
After this whole adventure, we went on to the real adventure, ZIP-LINING! My dad and I got harnessed, had a quick safety course, and went on the zip-line. (Pro-Tip: make sure you are in the first/middle group who goes out, do not be last!)
The people working the zip-lines were friendly, and we had an overall great experience. At one point we were several thousand feet above the air going across a river!

The only negative thing about DR would be the port where we docked. There is really nothing to do in La Romana's port. I would recommend you go on an excursion if you go to this port on this cruise ship!
#2 Aruba
While in Aruba we got off of the cruise, and went straight to the beach! We had a fun time, and met great people!
My dad and I also went jet-skiing/wave-running! The price was slightly high for the average costs, but the owners were friendly! I have never been jet-skiing before and it was a great experience although we did almost fall off several times!
The water and atmosphere as a whole was so pretty!
After the beach we went back on the cruise ship where we ate, and got changed. Then we shopped at some of the port shops, and even walked to a nearby mall.
Near the port there was this small market place where we purchased souvenirs and cute trinkets.
At the end of the night we ate dinner on the ship. and and did a bunch of other fun stuff before going to bed!
#1 Puerto Rico

#1 Puerto Rico
My top place to travel to is Puerto Rico! My family and I go every so often to visit family and experience all the land has to offer. My last time in Puerto Rico was during the week of Thanksgiving 2016.
In Puerto Rico, we explored the capital, San Juan, and even visited historical landmarks!
Aside from that there are so many other things to do in the territory.
The most popular being El Yunque, which is a tropical rain forest. We were able to walk through the rain forest, a national park, and see all of the pretty waterfalls.
My Dad and I hiked several miles up a huge mountain to a high point where we were able to see all of the land through a watch tower. Unfortunately, after Hurricane Maria devastated the island in 2017, El Yunque was closed down indefinitely.
Aside from the capital, and national park, we also went to the caverns in Camuy, Puerto Rico.
We took a walking tour through these caverns and learned about its history, and surprisingly, a lot about bats! These caverns were amazing!
In Puerto Rico, you can also go midnight kayaking, swim in the clear beaches, and so much more!

Overall, I would recommend each of these places for travel! They all have a variety of things to do & you can find many family oriented adventures!
